Princess Buns...

I LOVE baby bloomers with their ruffley butt and whatnot.

Nothing like an afternoon nap after church.

Kara is doing AWESOME at holding her head up.

SO CUTE!!! My heart just pitter patters with love for her all day long.

Loving her Daddy Kara time.

Kara's humble abode...

Miss Kara Faith's room...
We had a ton of fun putting it together.

Oh how we love that rocking chair.

The valance matches her bedding.

Where our perfect little Kara sleeps every night.

After I picked out Kara's bedding and knew the colors I wanted to coordinate everything with, Honig and I had a ball making the decals for her walls. We aren't allowed to paint in our townhome so instead we color matched Kara's bedding and flower designs and painted construction paper and cut it out in the same shapes as her bedding and then sticky tacked an arrangement of it to each corner. We love how it adds some flair to her room.

Optimus Prime is happy looking across the room watching over Kara while she sleeps. He'll jump out of his bowl and bark if there's an intruder. We taught him that trick.

I LOVE her bedding. Thank goodness for good deals on ebay or else we never could have purchased it. I love the combination of light pink, dark pink, red, and green on it. Pictures don't do it justice.

Honig and I made a ton of mini envelopes with a scrapbooking punch that I have and folded and taped them and then cut up little pieces of paper to be the stationary inside the envelopes and then put them in 2 of these jars. We write our little love notes to Kara on them and then put them in the jar on the right. Hopefully she'll love reading all the "little reasons" her Mommy and Daddy love her when she gets older.

But Mommy...

"But Mommy, Jessica Simpson wears her pants like this. Why can't I?"
~
Because Kara, Mommy doesn't want you to end up in low budget films like Dukes of Hazard and saying phrases like "Oh my gaw" or answering the question "Do you want some buffalo wings?" with "Sorry, I don't eat buffalo."
~
Just because, Kara. Just because.

Peanut's sayin hello...

Look at that gorgeous smile!!!

"Mommy, I just left you a present in my diapie!!"

"I rock!"

"Daddy, you need a breathmint! Yo breaf is funky!"

Clean-diaper-just-put-on content face.

Just layin around.

"Mommy, that joke wasn't funny."

"Gimme the camera. I want to blind YOU with the flash over and over again."

Miss Sweet Strawberry Buns.

So lazy and chunka cheeked.

Making faces at Mommy.

Having fun in her crib.

Staring at her crib bumper.

"Daddy, put some clothes on me right now!!!"

Poor peanut is dealing with a horrible case of baby acne. It seems like it's covering every square inch of her face and neck.

Cutie pants.

"I will laser beam you with my eyes if you don't give me some milk!"

200th post spectacular!!!...

Wowzah! 200 posts!! I guess it's "tradition" to write 200 facts about yourself when you get to the big 2-0-0 so here goes nothin... Kidding, I only did 58. 200 is crazy.
  1. Davis is my middle name. My parents never gave me one so I gave one to myself when I got married, and now I regret it because I get mail all the time where they think I've hyphenated my name because, really, what girl has the middle name Davis?
  2. I HATE spaghetti. Always have, always will. Please don't serve it to me. I will despise you forever if I have to "courtesy eat it". I will inconspicuously slide it onto Honig's plate so fast.
  3. I pronounce "theatre" as "theader".
  4. I love to make up songs about anything.
  5. I can do the Elvis lip only on my left side. I just look like I'm snarling when I try it on the right side.
  6. I tried crocheting a scarf once. ONCE. It ended up looking like a stupid ear muff. It magically found it's way to the garbage bin.
  7. I always prefer cash over presents.
  8. I love my husband and baby more than life itself.
  9. I hate to pray with my legs or ankles crossed. It just feels odd for some reason. Just watch me at church, those bad boys get uncrossed right before any prayer is said.
  10. I sometimes text message during church. I know, I'm a sinner.
  11. I will kick your hinie at Dr. Mario on NES. Chad is my only true great and worthy opponent. Ahhh, the endless hours we spent battling. Good times.
  12. I am left handed and eat with my left hand. I do everything else with my right.
  13. I love the sound of Kara's cry. It's still the most beautiful sound I've ever heard.
  14. Honig and I want to be buried in a very small cemetery. You know, the kind that you pass by on an old country road where the headstones are all mossy.
  15. I punched my brother as hard as I could right before I got baptized just so I could be naughty one last time.
  16. I sometimes don't check my voicemail for days. It's a horrible habit that I really need to break.
  17. My fingernails grow freakishly fast.
  18. I can only fall asleep if Honig's feet are on top of my feet.
  19. I wish I could sew. I need my mother in law to teach me.
  20. I have to force myself to drink my daily quota of water. I could take 3 sips all day and be just fine but Miss Buns needs me to produce milk for her so milk=drinking tons of water.
  21. I like to pet cats, but I don't ever want to own one. Honig, however, desperately wants one when we move to a place that we are allowed to have animals. We'll see who wins that battle.
  22. Top Ramen tastes so much better dry.
  23. In my younger days I had a crush on Dave from Alvin and the Chipmunks. Nothing says love like a crush on an animated cartoon character.
  24. I LOVE watching the Olympics. I watched an insane amount of them last year. I lived for the Michael Phelps races and the women's gymnastics.
  25. It drives me nuts when people call me "Shelley". It's Chelle, sounds just like the word "shell." I love being called Chelle. Not Shelley.
  26. It also drives me nuts when people ask, "Is it Car-uh?" No people, Kara is pronounced "Care-uh." Just run it together quickly. I've never even heard the pronunciation of Kara as "Car-uh." Slappings for everyone who pronounces my daughter's name incorrectly.
  27. I could eat Mexican food everyday of my life.
  28. I don't shave my legs very often. Once a month, maybe twice is probably average for me.
  29. I have dreams where my teeth fall out or have holes in them and I am mortified when I wake up.
  30. I am a horrible cook. I know it and admit it. I can make a mean PB&J though.
  31. I used to have this "secret world" in my backyard in a bunch of trees and bushes when I was younger. It was the place that my friends and I always played. Many a prince or knight came to visit me there.
  32. I used to find the Halloween candy every year (it was always in the garage Mom) and slowly eat it and leave the wrappers in the bag, and of course always denied it was me that ate it. I blamed a lot of my naughties on my older brother.
  33. I don't carry a purse anymore. I carry a diaper bag with my planner and phone and keys in it. How's that for embracing mommyhood?
  34. There is a news anchor here in Davenport that I LOVE to make fun of. She has the world's most nasally voice.
  35. I desperately want to stay at Abendblume Bed and Breakfast this summer in Leavenworth, WA. It is the most gorgeous and romantic B&B I have ever been to or seen.
  36. I miss chocolate. It doesn't agree with Kara so Mommy doesn't get to eat it anymore.
  37. My house is no where near clean right now because I would always rather hold Kara than clean.
  38. I could be cleaning right now but I am holding a sleeping Miss Buns in one arm and typing with the other free hand. I've got my priorities straight.
  39. I have never had a drop of alcohol, smoked a cigarette, done drugs, or even had coffee in my entire life. Yucky.
  40. I feel bad for fish in small bowls. It's the equivalent of living in a 200 square foot studio apartment.
  41. I can't make it through an IKEA in less than 2 hours.
  42. I still eat cereal like it's going out of style. I think we have 7 different boxes in our house right now.
  43. I finally have a cell phone that I like and not the cheapie free ones I've always had.
  44. I still remember a dream I had when I was 6 years old when I watched Freddie Krueger kill my brother while I hid behind a couch. It was traumatizing. But the real questions is why was allowed to watch Nightmare on Elmstreet as a wee tyke?
  45. I wanted to marry Kevin Bacon after I saw Footloose.
  46. I think I am going to donate to Locks of Love again in a year after I've let my hair grow another couple of inches. (Shhh, don't tell Honig. He loves my long hair and went into shock when I donated last time.)
  47. I can quote Beauty and the Beast word for word when I watch it.
  48. I have developed a small case of road rage now that we have a baby. Suddenly everyone else is a retarded driver and needs to have their license's revoked.
  49. I could really go for a good brisket right now.
  50. Christmas is my favorite holiday. Decorations go up the day after Halloween.
  51. I always think of my best smart alec retorts after the fact and then kick myself that I wasn't brilliant enough to think of that comeback in the first place.
  52. Sometimes I laugh out loud when I'm by myself because I will have thought of something hilarious and I wish someone was around to hear it.
  53. Florida should be kicked out of the USA. The shape of it is offensive to me. I'm okay with a flag with only 49 stars on it.
  54. I love it when Kara smiles in her sleep. I like to think she's dreaming of milk or her mommy and daddy.
  55. Seinfeld isn't funny.
  56. I stayed up until 4 AM to see when the Pope died and of course the news broke when I was checking the weather channel so I missed it.
  57. I would like a house with a loft that overlooks a lower room.
  58. As much as I love narcissism, I am tired of thinking of random facts about me so 200 is getting shortened down to 58.

Kara's first visit to the chiropractor...

Kara had her first visit to the chiropractor, her Daddy, this past Thursday at Palmer. Daddy performed a physical on her, and got to do a ton of tests on her. He and his attending Dr only found a subluxation at T12 and Daddy got to adjust it. Her cervicals looked good and didn't need any adjusting; it's held very well ever since we had Kara adjusted in the NICU when she was 5 days old.
She managed to poop on her outfit right before her appointment began, and Mommy forgot to bring a change of clothes for her so she was nakes for the rest of her appointment and then we had to wrap her up snug before taking her out in the cold in her carseat.
Cutie buns.
"Daddy, that stethescope was freezing!!!!"
Daddy getting his favorite patient's temperature.

Peanut wasn't a big fan of the hanging-upside-down-test. He didn't just do this one for fun. It really does serve a purpose.
