Root Canal - been there, done that...

This last Tuesday, I had the wonderful opportunity of having an oh-so-lovely root canal on one of my upper teeth. The procedure went just fine, and I barely even felt a thing. My dentist was great, and he made sure I was comfortable throughout the whole thing.

Oh yes my friends, that is me and the sweet shades the dental office provides and a Chinese torture contraption around my mouth. Don't be jealous.

I had to see just how ridiculous I looked with all that junk on my face. I was amazed that Dean somehow still thought I was cute.

The Dentist Isn't So Bad

I totally thought that guy was going to be me yesterday, well, but I would be and girl instead of a guy and you know.... but it wasn't so bad. My dentist was sent from heaven and the injections and the drilling didn't hurt one bit. I was so petrified of the shots they give you to numb your gums but they were angels and put on a numbing gel and he could have poked my gums all day with a needle if he wanted to, I didn't hardly feel a thing. Thank goodness I was born in a day and age that has anesthetics.

Washington in a month

WHO'S GOING TO WASHINGTON NEXT MONTH? WE'RE GOING TO WASHINGTON NEXT MONTH!!!!

We are leaving on the 28th (hopefully) and will be flying into Seattle where we will be meeting little Joshua Pratt Hansen for the first time. Our friends, Adam and Lisa, had their first little baby boy on May 11th and we can't wait to meet him and smother him with kisses.

Dean and I are going to be staying at the Abendblume Pension, a BEAUTIFUL bed and breakfast that we stayed at for one night on our honeymoon in Leavenworth, WA. We fell in love with it and decided that we needed to go on a second honeymoon this summer so we are going to be staying there for 2 nights in a beautiful suite. We're going to go horseback riding, swimming, eat at some delicious German restaurants, and do some shopping. And of course have some of the best cheese on the planet. Mmmmm.

Once we are done in Leavenworth, we are going to come back to Adam and Lisa's and stay there for the rest of the week. We're going to have a 4th of July party (which everyone had better come to-hint hint) and we'll have a BBQ and good times for all. We did the same thing last year and had so much fun. There'll be lots of fireworks and plus when our our fireworks are all gone, the neighborhood still has em going for hours. Seriously, some people there last year had to have dropped at least $800-$1000 on fireworks. It makes for a good show.

And of course the one restaurant that we will be going to no matter what because we crave it year round...THE CRAB POT. My friends, it is possibly the most delicious food that this world has ever been graced with and will ever be graced with. The put a big old plastic bib on your, put butcher paper down on your table, and then bring a huuuuge silver bowl full of dungeness crab, snow crab, shrimp in the shell, steamed clams & mussels, Andouille sausage, corn on the cob & red potatoes and dump it out in front of you on the table and you can go to town. It is to die for. Dean and I leave there so full and happy everytime.

While we're in Washington, Dean is going to be job shadowing his uncle for a day. He did the same thing we want to do, open up your own practice right out of school. We want to soak up as much as we can so that we can be best prepared to know what we have facing us in the next 2 years. How much does it cost to start a practice and how do you get the loans? How do you get contacted with insurance? How do you market yourself and your practice? What are the first 2 years typically like? Basically, any advice we can get is going to be extremely helpful. We feel very blessed that we have 2 uncles who are chiropractors who can help with any questions we may have.

And of course we are so grateful that we are going to be flying instead of driving because that is a killer drive. I don't wish it upon anyone. We will make only one more long drive and that will be on June of 2009 when we move all of our stuff down to Arizona.

One more day of being 24.....

It's Dean's birthday tomorrow, and we are going to go out tonight to celebrate. He said he didn't want anything big and fancy this year so we're just going to go to dinner and a movie and that's all. I'll give him his presents tomorrow so he can actually have something to open on his birthday. He wants a rifle more than anything but unfortunately our bank account doesn't agree with that big of a purchase. One day he can have all of his toys when we're raking in the dough. He can have his guns nad swords, and I can have my days at the spa. Ahhhhhh, to have money. Maybe one day we'll know what it feels like.

Dean's 25th Birthday is almost here...

Dean's birthday is in 3 more days, and he's about to hit the big 2-5! We don't really have much of anything planned, but I am sure we'll go to his choice of restaurant on Saturday and I'll give him his present on Sunday. We decided that since we are staying 2 nights in Leavenworth, WA this summer and that is going to cost us a pretty penny, the trip is going to be both of our birthday presents this year. Of course we'll still get eachother something small to give eachother on our actual birthdays.
