Supermodel documentary hour!!!!...

This is Brett and this is Amy. They're our friends.

They (well, pretty much Amy) took pictures of Dean and I in freezing conditions because they're good people.

They are such good people because they even managed to get 3 dead floating heads hovering above our heads without them looking creepy.

And they taugh us how to fly. What good friends we have.

No, that sparkle of dust on the left side of the picture is not my dead grandpa. But that ginormous green head in the background is. Miss you gramps.

Then we drove over to my alma mater, well, alma mater in a couple of months I mean. But that's neither here nor there. I have honorary alma mater privileges where I want. Anyways, enjoy our picture.

Then we all went to our casa, oh, and don't forget the whole Brett and Dean jumping out of the cars on the way over to help push a Ford Escape out of the middle of the ice covered road into a gas station, an everyday occurrence here. Good Samaritans. Anyways, we got to our house, and busted out the best game known to mankind. Settlers. Amy claims she "didn't remember how to play because it'd been years." Uh huh. Sure. She demolished us all both times. This picture was from my happier days.

Then I realized that I don't have a prayer and I normally win that game. I only do things I'm good at immediately. Cue sad face.

Now re-cue happy face because Brett and Amy are our friends. Happy days are here again.

Noodle heads...

Dean and I went to go see National Treasure:Book of Secrets last Friday because, well, that's what we do when we want to see a movie that we've been anticipating, silly. We really really liked the first National Treasure, but we got our hopes up a little too high for this one. Don't get me wrong, it was okay, but nothing to start water cooler chat over. It's very CSI'esque in the sense that a miniscule hair found in a hair brush in the dumpster 20 miles away from the victims house magically links everything together and the case is solved within 2 hours. National Treasure takes a similar course that goes in way left field in the sense of Nicolas Cage manages to go to Mars, find the lost Mars Rover, the same one that revealed Decepticons on Mars, that has the REAL first presidents body in it so that he can uncover the conspiracy that George Washington set in place so that he could be recognized as the first president of the USA and does that by finding his wooden teeth in a book about dentistry in the National Library of Congress which has the Declaration of Independence laser inscribed on a tooth with 1 crucial word missing. You should see it. It was a good one.
On to more interesting subjects. Food. I love food. Dean loves food. We all love food.

After we saw the mediocre movie, we headed over to Noodles and Co, the newest restaurant in town because we had heard rave reviews about it. Dean ordered a beef stroganoff, and I ordered a chicken phad thai, and we had a good ol time chatting it up and laughing with eachother. I LOVE phad thai, no, correction, I LOVE DELICIOUS phad thai which is suprisingly hard to find. Nothing will ever beat phad thai from Indochine in Federal Way, WA. I have decided I would like to be buried with a plate of their phad thai in one hand and a bag of SmartPop cheesy popcorn in the other and I will be happy forever. Oh, and that whole going to heaven with Dean thing. I'M KIDDING HONEY!!! KIDDING!!

Waiting in line at Noodles and Co.

Dang, we're POOR!!!!...

On the 16th, Dean and I had a hankering to go adventure out and see if we could go find some neighborhoods that were all decked out in Christmas lights so that we could "oohhh and aaahhhh" over them. We went over to Bettendorf, which is just east of Davenport, and it is considered the "ritzy" part of the Quad Cities so we figured that the people there who have ridiculous amounts of money could at least spare a couple of dollars to bling out their houses for Christmas. And bling they did. Not as much as this one amazing neighborhood down by the beach in Federal Way, our hometown, but there were still some good ones here. Here was our favorite house...

They had LED lights everywhere and it looked amazing. The picture doesn't do it any justice. All I know is that one day when Dean and I have a house, we will be buying LED lights because they look better than any other lights I have ever seen in my life. And I can't forget to mention that the house was freakin HUGE!!! Seriously, I would put it at at least 6,000 square feet, and that is more than I would ever know what to do with.

We got out and took some self portraits infront of it and this is the least blurry one. Apparently I forgot to put it on the night light setting. Ooops! Oh well.

Why do I look like I was crying? I promise I wasn't. Or maybe because the left side of my scalp looks like it's been crushed in.

Shoot me in the face...

I took my A&P final this afternoon so I decided I wanted one last picture of me looking happy for Dean before I turned into a zombie at my desk from complete synaptic shutdown.

And turn into a zombie I did. But I did it at the beginning of the test, not at the end like most people.

Our test was 155 questions over the 9 chapters we've covered since Sept. I've had 200 pages of anatomy shoved into my little 3 pound brain thus far, and you would think that I could remember the simple things that have been gone over bazillion times in class!? Apparently not. The 15th question on the test asked where glycogen is stored. We have gone over that a bazillion times but I couldn't remember where it is stored to safe my ever lovin life! I can tell you forwards and backwards about everything from mitosis to lysozomes to the endoplasmic reticulum to the mediastinum to hematopoeisis to sarcomeres to cerebrospinal fluid to the cauda equina to tectorial membranes to synovial fluid to amphiarthroidal joints to haversian canals to blah blah blah.... you get the idea. It's just so frustrating when I'm staring at a question i KNOW i know the answer to but I can't think of the answer for anything. I know it happens to everyone but for some reason today it really frustrated me because I know that I know the material and I had a mental block for whatever reason on the simple stuff.

Maybe I will just go now and watch Dora the Explorer and see if I can't learn a thing or two.

Avogadro's love...

I was dying laughing yesterday because Dean spontaneously said, "I love you more than Avogadro's Number." If any of you are chemists, you know that Avogadro's Number is 6.022 x 10^23 which equals A LOT of love. Beat that.

NEVER again...

Last night Dean and I went and saw the much anticipated I Am Legend. Dean has been dying to see it for months and months, basically ever since he first heard it was going to be released yesterday. So of course I wanted to go to see it with him because I love watching his face in movies that he has been hankering to see because his face gets so animated at the intense fighting scenes.

Yeah, BIG mistake.

I kid you not, the first time I saw one of the zombie-ish type creatures, I won't say what they are really called in case someone who reads this is going to see it, pop out of the darkness in I Am Legend, I about threw our popcorn across the theater and jumped on Dean's lap and my heart went into arrhythmia. When I get really scared and startled in a movie theater, I tend to grab onto Dean and pinch or squezze or dig my nails into something on him, and I literally can't help it, it's some sort of reflex for me and also a distractor. So my poor hubby is next to me writhing in pain because I have a death grip on him that I only half know I'm doing, meanwhile I'm next to him trying to remember to breathe and my feet are climbing and kicking the chair infront of me. Thankfully no one was in the chair in front of me. I've had people laugh at me in theaters before because of how big of a baby I am. It ended up that I literally didn't watch about 1/4th of the movie because I couldn't handle how gruesome and grotesque and intense the zombie scenes were. And the sounds they made, oh my goodness, I still can't handle it.

Then fast forward to bedtime last night. I dreamed about how the zombies were after me and I had to kill the zombie's ALL NIGHT LONG. At 3:00AM I woke up and was so incredibly scared of the dark because of that movie, and I am NEVER scared of the dark, that I had Dean get up, turn on the lights, turn on the hallways lights, turn on the bathroom lights, and then I was able to get up and go to the bathroom. Oh, and I also made him stand guard at the bathroom door. That is how much that stupid movie got into my head. Then when I finally got back to sleep after an hour or so, I dreamed about the zombies and their contorted faces for the rest of the night. Needless to say, I woke up in a really really bad mood this morning.

Point being, NEVER again. Dean can go see those types of movies by himself. I'll stick to Enchanted or Bee Movie.

Wicked awesome presents...

Tiff got some chocolates. And Keven is wearing the best shirt in the world. Ralphie from A Christmas Story, a.k.a. the best Christmas movie of all time.

Lousie got a t-shirt that had an iron on picture of Charlie and Annie on it. It was freaking hilarious. And what was even better and sweet was that Louise wanted to keep it instead of steal someone else's present.

Keven opening up his present. I don't remember what he got though.

And the best present of the night.... the thong in a little Christmas box that Charlie picked after I stole his present. There is a rule that if you get a piece of clothing as a present, you have to wear it.
"I'm not putting this thing on. Michelle's gonna take pictures of it!!"
But peer pressure got the best of his so he put it on...... for 2 seconds and then he couldn't rip that sucker off him quick enough.
Annie, Charlie's very pregnant wife, was about to go into labor she was laughing so hard at him.

A free MP3 player!??!?....

We went to our friends, Keven and Tiff's, house for their 2nd annual Christmas party this last weekend. We had such a good time, ate way too much food, and laughed a little too hard. The best part of the night is the white elephant gift exchange. Last year Dean and I wrapped up and brought a squash from our fridge, and a box of unmentionables if you know what I mean. White elephant girl exchanges are supposed to be gag-ish type gifts, stuff that you've been wanting to get rid of because it's junk so you pawn it off on someone else so that's what we did. It was awesome.

Anyways, this year we brought a Simpsons mosiac puzzle and a piece of underwear as our gifts because we didn't want them. No one picked our gifts until the very end beause they were the only 2 left since everyone was afraid of what they'd get from us since they knew what we brought last year. I got stuck with my own present I brought in the end and Dean ended up with an MP3 player which was awesome. Thank you Becca and Clint!!! He already has one so he gave it to me and I love it. It's an older one but it works just fine and the best part is it only holds 15 songs!!! But that is just fine for me since I usually have 10 or so songs that I love at one time and those are all I listen to until I get sick of them and then I move onto new ones.

Dean reading the side of the box and being amazed that there are still MP3 players that only have 64MB on them.

Ooooooohhhhhh, look at that!!!

That's Clint and Becca closest to Dean. He was laughing with them over how old school the MP3 player was, but hey, beggars can't be choosers.

Dean reveling in his present.

Scrambled or hard-boiled?...

I went to the fridge 2 days ago to get out the lunch meat, cheese, and mayo to make a sandwich, and as I'm looking in the door of the fridge for the mayo, I look over and I see...
Dean is the sweetest. How can I help but love him?

Icicles for all!!!...

The pictures don't do any justice to how beautiful everything looked when coated with 1/2 inch think ice.

No school for the Sheldons!!!...

On Tuesday Dean and I got to stay home from school because both of our schools were cancelled due to an ice storm that came through the area. Personally, we think that school didn't need to be cancelled because the roads were totally driveable, but hey, if someone wants to cancel our school so we can stay home together, more power to them. We studied and did homework all day, went to the store to get some fruit, watched Pirates of the Caribbean 3 (still super disappointed in it because the first 2 were so good and the 3rd one's storyline was very weak) and we took a 3 and a half hour nap, and that pretty much consisted of our day. It was a good one.
I had my hair in hot rollers for almost 2 hours because I was a little too intense with my homework. I didn't even notice they were still in my hair.

Awesome.

He's the cutest.

Glorious snow...

In my eutopian world, it would snow at least 6 inches every day of the year, and Dean and I would sit and watch it fall and then go out and play in it. Well, it snowed a couple of days ago but Dean was at school and I was doing some homework that I was behind on, so it was a doublewhammy.

Looking out from our back deck. That's our little Jetta sitting there.

View from our front porch.

Looking at our townhouse. Ours is the one with the wreath on the front door.

Dean and I thought our lights that we put down in the ivy-ish plants in front of our window looked cool when they were covered with snow. And there is my sweetie standing partially behind the front door.Posted by Picasa
