The Mississippi

Dean and I drove over to the Mississippi River a couple of weekends ago, it's only a couple of miles from our house, and we decided that we at least had to touch it once while we live here.

It was greenish-brownish and SMELLED disgusting. Seriously, it smelled like one of the sulfer pools at Yellowstone National Park. We probably contracted some sort of foot disease from it, but at least we can say we've touched the Mississippi River.

You two are already starting to look alike and you've only been married a few years. Wow!

My Public Health professor's son did a report on the Mississippi and measured the e-coli in the river during the school year. It was 10 time higher than what was concidered safe! When the professor asked the city why they had let the e-coli count get so high, they replied they didn't treat the river in the winter time. They felt people woudn't swim in it then.

So be careful!

Isn't that where someone in Joseph Smith's canoe group saw the "destroyer riding in power on the face of the waters?" Maybe it was the Missouri river. Either way don't trust that stuff! You might want to get you feet checked out, too.
