Another attempt at baking...

This past Sunday I had the world's biggest hankering for cookies so I pulled out the family cookbook, and found a recipe for peanut butter cookies that looked delicious. If you've read our previous posts, you know that I admit that I am not Suzy-Bake-A-Lot and most of my attempts turn out in a charred oversweetened disaster. Well, I am pleased to say that all of my cookies except 1 batch turned our wonderful on Sunday. Dean and I munched on them all night long and were in peanut butter cookie heaven. So at least I know there is still some hope for me baking-wise.

Going into the oven...

That's right baby, they turned out all peanut buttery kinds of wonderful...

1. That is probably one of the most unflattering pictures of me in history.

2. I wasn't really licking them. Don't worry. That'd be gross.

3. Why are my eyelids so pink?

It's kind of blurry, but oh well. Dean was in cookie heaven.

Dean in a trance...

HAHAHA! I love this one of Dean because he is so completely engrossed in watching A Christmas Story and he looks like he is in a trance. He does that sometimes. He'll be working on a project, and something can come on tv that grabs his attention and he'll somehow levitate to right in front of the tv, blocking it from my view but not knowing he's doing it, and I'll practically have to use a blowhorn to snap him out of it. I think it's the Saturday morning cartoon kid coming out it in him.

Taming of the Tree...

Oh Christmas tree, Oh Christmas tree...

Look how much he's concentrating. There can be no error in setting up the base...

Still going stong...

Alright, this is fun!

chelle doing the "YAY! I LOVE OUR CHRISTMAS TREE!" jump. I love Dean's expression in the picture. He was frustrated because the branches weren't branching out like how he wanted to. But they finally get their act together and cooperated.

Sheldon+Elves=Shelves

Dean and I pulled out the Santa hats the other day and set up our Christmas tree, put out all our decorations, and watched a Chistmas Story while doing all of that. We think we did pretty good this year; last year we set up our Christmas stuff the day after Halloween but this year we had a little self-discipline and managed to hold off until November 12th but then we couldn't take it anymore.

5 random facts about Dean...

Since I posted my 5 facts about me, it is now time to get to know a little about my wonderful husband...

1. Dean is an avid collector of knives, guns, swords, and pocketwatches. He dreams, nay, fantacizes about taking down a robber with his 12-gauge. He claims that he just wants to protect me and our home, but I think he just is living out a fantasy of being a Secret Service sniper.

2. When Dean was in high school, he went to Germany for foreign student exchange program for two weeks. While he was there he went to tour an abandoned castle and he got lost in these miles of dark tunnels underneath the castle. All he had was a Bic lighter (no, he never smoked, it was the guys' that he was with) and it took them a couple of hours to find their way out.

3. Dean worked at a veterinary hospital for 5 years. He even got to stitch up a dead cat while working there. He was going to become a veterinarian until he decided that he wanted to be a chiropractor instead. However, he would like to combine a little bit of both worlds so that he can practice animal chiropractic one day.

4. Dean has the fullest head of hair I've ever seen on a man. And thankfully his hair has shown no signs of thinning. No receding hair line. No bald spot on the top. And it is a beautiful dark dark brown, almost blackish. But yet his facial hair has a lot of red in it!?!?! I know, weird huh?

5. Dean has been to 9 temples so far. Seattle, Mesa, Nauvoo, Chicago, Spokane, Tri-cities, Provo, Salt Lake, and Switzerland. What a temple traveler!

Now you know about Dean, and knowing is half the battle. There are a million other wonderful things about him, but my fingers can only type so much. Maybe another time.

Seafarers...

Last night we went over to our friends', Jeff and Julie, and we played Seafarers of Catan. We had a lot of fun, and Julie absolutely kicked some hinie. I didn't have a prayer, and Jeff and Dean were neck and neck, but then Julie comes from nowhere and smokes us all. It was so much fun to just sit there and shoot the breeze for 2 hours with them. They are so much fun, and they are just good genuine people.

Jeff with a rockin thumbs up. Julie showing her beautiful pearly whites for the camera. And my sweet Dean smiling at his wifey.

Apparently I was seriously contemplating something Jeff just said because I don't look like I'm about to break that gaze.Posted by Picasa
